In December 2018 the Australian Government announced that they would be releasing an additional 10,000 high level home care packages in the current financial year.
The result will be more support for Senior Australians to receive their approved level of care sooner, and remain living at home for longer.
Charlene Dallimore, Banksia Villages Community Care Manager, welcomed the announcement, saying: “We were aware that these additional packages would be released, and our resources are fully prepared. This announcement is terrific news as it gives local seniors more choice about how they receive their care. In particular, those who require higher levels of clinical care will be able to access that care while remaining in their own home.”
The additional 5,000 level 3 and 5,000 level 4 packages will support those with more acute needs, and Charlene says that Banksia Community Care is well placed to meet those needs. “Within our team we have Registered Nurses, Clinicians and a pool of care workers with Certificates 111 and 1V in Aged Care. Our clients have access to Clinicians in person, rather than over the phone, giving that personal touch as well as professional care. We also pride ourselves on having a team that keeps current with the latest training and develops strong relationships with other allied health workers in the local area.”
The Banksia Community Care team currently provide services to more than 35 locals, from Surfside to Tuross, who choose to remain in their own home, close to family, friends, neighbours and their local community while receiving high standards of care from a professional team.
